All the time, but I’m awful at remembering people's names

What was the most rebellious thing you did at school?
Letting off fireworks in school

What makes for a truly great festival experience?
The right combination of good company, music, atmosphere, weather and beer… and drugs

If the situation were to arise, would you ever play a concert before the royal family?
I don’t think that’s ever going to happen, however if it was for a cause that I truly believed in then, who knows?

Do you find your views of the world’s political problems have changed with time?
Time changes the world's political problems all the time. My views change only on the information it’s based on.

Walk to stage right, jump up and down for a bit, check ugliness of crowd, take fiddle from current stage slave, check tuning, take stage... and shout “Hello Cleveland!”

The Beatles – it might fool people long enough to make me very rich

I killed the school goldfish and the stick insects with nitric acid….uuurgh!

Of course! The only people who refuse to learn from experience are politicians themselves! Yeah I’ve changed over some verses but the song remains
the same.

People have to realize that making records costs money and though I wish I could, unfortunately we can’t give away things for free

Uma Thurman, cos she’s hard

Not really, just a bit more exasperated

Putting on my make up etc – I get a bit stuck into pre gig rituals sometimes, and when I realise that is the case,
I stop them

I like opinions in lyrics rather than pulp, but I don’t think they have a big effect on their own, but as part of a greater push, they work

Drunkellers

Do you get approached in the street much by fans and asked to sign autographs and pose for photos? 
No – I only wear drag on stage

In your opinion, what makes for a truly great festival experience?
Beautiful Days. No corporate sponsorship and decent food and beer available
